During the spring semester of 2013, I decided to go out on a limb and land myself a part-time job at a fast-food chain restaurant that we all know and love; yes, McDonald’s. In this fast-paced work atmosphere I learned some very new and desirable skills in the workplace. Handling money, interacting with people constantly, quick order taking and reliable listening skills were all required to be a successful crew member at McDonald’s. It may not be the dream job of most, but as a young student entering the work force, this is a wonderful first job to learn about communicating with co-workers and management positions, time management with scheduling, and hard work on site to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
